Welcome to the Ecclesiastical Textiles blog site. This site is for those who, like me, enjoy designing and making textiles to be used in the service of God. I created this blog site so that I can freely share with other people the things I have learned over the last 30 years. This site is very much a work in progress and I hope that in the coming months and years I will be able to add more information and photos so that you can enjoy them. The contents of this site are available free of charge, though I do hold the copy right on them. If you wish to print a copy for your own use please feel free to do so. If you wish to contribute to this site just send me a comment.

About the blogger.

My name is Jan Joustra, I am the Anglican/Episcopalian Dean of Waikato in Aotearoa/New Zealand. I was born in the Netherlands and brought up in Australia and have worked as an Anglican priest in Australia, Hong Kong, Monaco and New Zealand. I am married to Linda, who is an accountant and I have two teenage children, Gabriella and Oliver. Before entering ministry I was a lecturer in woven textiles and design in Australia. Apart from textiles I also enjoy working in my garden, weaving, cooking, mosaic and icon writing. As times goes by I might add further posts on these topics as well.
